Watch Dr. Pimple Popper Slice A Huge, Hairy Mole Clean Off A Man’s Face

  • In her newest Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper removed a mole from a man’s face.
  • Dr. Pimple Popper used a pushing motion instead of a sawing motion to remove the mole.
  • Per the AAD, moles are typically only removed if they’re bothersome, unattractive to the patient, or look suspicious.

Dr. Pimple Popper’s at it again…with another video that proves she doesn’t just pop blackheads and cysts all day.

In her newest Instagram video, dermatologist Sandra Lee, MD, does something I’ve never seen her do before: cut a mole clean off a man’s face. The video, posted Thursday to her Instagram channel, was captioned: “Holy Moley, we’re getting #cheeky today!”

The video opens with a closeup of the noticeably hairy mole on a man’s cheek. Dr. Pimple Popper gets to work right away, slicing at the man’s mole— but she makes sure to talk about her technique while she’s cutting. “I use my left hand to slightly stretch the skin to provide traction and flat surface,” she wrote on the video itself.

As she’s slicing, Dr. Pimple Popper also makes it clear that she’s simply sliding the blade across a the man’s face to remove the mole. “This is not a parallel sawing motion, but I put pressure down on the skin and slide across the mole.”

According to the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), a dermatologist will remove a mole if it’s bothersome, unattractive to the patient, or looks suspicious (i.e., could be skin cancer).

Per the AAD, dermatologists remove a mole one of two ways: through surgical excision (when the dermatologist cuts out a mole from the sin), and a surgical shave (when the dermatologist uses a surgical blade to remove the mole).

But one thing to keep in mind: Never, ever remove a mole yourself. It could cause infection, scarring, or, if the mole is cancerous, it could cause cancer cells to stay in your skin and possibly spread.

Dr. Pimple Popper ends up removing the mole cleanly from the man’s face, while at the same time avoiding dropping the removed mole on the man’s “nice, white sweater.” Pretty sure we can say she’s a Jill of all trades with that one.
