This Is Exactly What Leah Itsines Eats In A Day

I swear I dream about food. I wake up excited to eat each and every day!

I’ll typically wake up around 6:30 am and go for a nice 20-30 minute walk at the gym, to get my body moving and to wake myself up for the day ahead. During the working week I like to keep my meals pretty structured and meal prep so I can be organised during those super busy work days. On weekends I’ll typically to eat a little more fresh and with more variety as I have more time on my hands. I’ll walk you through what a day of eating looks like on Monday – Friday.

7:30 am

I’ll usually kickstart my day with lemongrass ginger tea with a squeeze of honey, fresh lemon juice and a pinch of cinnamon (I’m off coffee for a while…but you have a coffee for me!! Haha)! If I have 10-15 minutes in the morning, breakfast would usually be what I like to call “Leah’s Greek Breakfast” which consists of an egg omelette (with feta), then on the side, I’ll have fresh tomato, onion, olives and avocado. If I’m pressed for time and want a 2-minute breakfast I’ll opt for my Peanut Butter & Jelly Overnight Oats which you can prepare ahead of time.

YESSSS ? My breakfast that I’ve been having SO much lately! I absolutely LOVE those type of Mediterranean breakfast (bar the sauerkraut haha). Breakfast is such an important meal of the day and I like to get as much colour & goodness that I can in this meal ✅ I have a super busy work schedule, so in the mornings I love making a quick omelette and then the rest just grab and go outta the fridge! Breakfast doesn’t have to be boring, but it DOES have to be filling, balanced, colourful and most importantly….delicious ? These types of easy breakfasts are going to be a staple in BARE 2.0 ? Snack time! Now, I don’t always snack… But if I’m still hungry 2 or so hours after breakfast I’ll typically snack on something small. My go-to is Apple and peanut butter. If you haven’t tried this… You have to, it’s my favourite!

SNACKING ? If you’re anything like me and can’t stop thinking of food, then organising your snacks is a GREAT option for you! Many people ask me if I have snacks during the day and the answer is of course…YES! I eat 3 main meals and 2 snacks. I find that eating two snacks between my main meals keeps me full, prevents me from crashing/feeling tired and helps me stay focused. ??⁣ Some of my favourite snacks I’m loving at the moment are: ⁣ ✅ Apple and Almond Butter ⁣ ✅Zucchini and quinoa slice ⁣ ✅Protein balls ⁣ ✅Hummus and Vegetables ⁣ ✅Celery and Almond butter ⁣ ⁣ These are all super easy to whip up, keep in the fridge and grab and go when you need…and better ? yet, ALL of these are on my website! I personally love sitting outside and enjoying some sun (if any) while eating… It’s always nice to take 30-minute breather during lunch and just reset for the afternoon ahead. Usually, my lunch would be left over dinner or something I’ve prepped ahead of time, at the moment I’m on a heavy rotation between Dahl with rice, chicken yiros, chicken lettuce cups or my chicken pesto pasta.

MEAL DIARY! Swipe to see what I’m having!? Tonight is food prep night which means I’m making all my delicious meals for next week (or at least organising my fridge to make it super easy when I cook at night time!). ⁣ ⁣ ? I choose to have a different dinner each night because I genuinely enjoy cooking (but doesn’t mean you have too!) so this is my meal diary for tomorrow ??⁣ ⁣ ✅Pumpkin and bacon breakfast muffins ⁣ ✅Seedy crisp bread⁣ ✅Chicken lettuce cups ⁣ ✅Apple and nut butter ⁣ ✅Vegetable pad Thai ⁣ ⁣ How goes does that sound ?? We all go through those 3 pm energy dips! I’ll typically take a 5-minute break, walk around the office to get my blood flowing and enjoy 2-3 bliss balls for a snack. My carrot cake bliss balls or peanut butter protein balls are absolutely perfect for an afternoon pick me up.

6:30 pm 

Now we’re getting to my favourite part of the day… Dinner! I love cooking a fresh dinner each night for Mitch and I… I take it as my time to shine and get creative in the kitchen, often I’ll experiment much more than I should haha. For me, I’m extremely impulsive so dinner is whatever I’m feeling on the day, at the moment I’m loving Chicken Teriyaki Bowls, Chicken Pesto Pasta, Homemade Pizzas or even a fresh Burrito Bowl!

I am ALL about PIZZA ? Healthy, homemade pizza is one of the easiest things to make when you’re just in the mood for deliciousnessss?? Below is my favourite topping.. I swear it’s so delicious ? ⁣⁣ ✅ Pita bread base⁣⁣ ✅Fresh Brown Onion⁣⁣ ✅ fresh Garlic⁣⁣ ✅ Shredded Chicken breast⁣⁣ ✅Pesto⁣⁣ ✅Mozzarella cheese ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Topped with:⁣⁣ ✅Balsamic glaze⁣⁣ ✅ chopped cherry tomatoes⁣⁣ ✅ Baby spinach ⁣⁣ ✅Chilli flakes/ fresh chilli ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes and you’re all set!! Post dinner

Typically I won’t eat any dessert after dinner as I’m usually pretty full, however, if I am still hungry 1-2 hours after dinner I’ll usually have a tea with some honey around 8:30 pm to calm my stomach and help me sleep well.
